DhivehiGPT Presented at Maldives IGF 2024

At this year’s Maldives Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the Javaabu leadership team delivered a series of presentations on how DhivehiGPT is helping empower Maldivian communities through AI. CEO Mohamed Jailam, CTO Arushad Ahmed and Machine Learning Research Engineer Yameen each discussed the growing role of locally developed AI tools in strengthening digital participation and expanding economic opportunities.

The team highlighted how DhivehiGPT is lowering language barriers by enabling Maldivians to access AI in their own language. They also outlined how these tools are supporting creators, small businesses and community groups by making it easier to produce content, automate routine work and build services around local digital platforms.

The session drew strong interest from attendees who were eager to explore how homegrown AI solutions can support digital inclusion and open pathways for sustainable monetisation. With initiatives like DhivehiGPT, Javaabu emphasised the importance of ensuring that the Maldives plays an active part in shaping its own digital future.
