Javaabu has introduced its prototype Temperature-check Stand, branded HunScan, at Papa Sam’s restaurant in Malé. The device, developed in response to heightened public-health requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic, is currently in its trial phase, with the company inviting public feedback to refine and enhance the product before wider deployment.
HunScan integrates automated temperature screening with a user-friendly display, aiming to offer businesses a reliable and touch-free method to monitor customer and staff safety. The standalone unit features a mounted screen, infrared temperature sensor, and optional extensions such as sanitizer dispensers, designed to support compliance with national safety guidelines.
The prototype installation at Papa Sam’s marks HunScan’s first public test site. According to Javaabu, real-world feedback from businesses and users plays an essential role in optimizing usability, accuracy, and long-term performance as the product moves toward commercial readiness.
The innovation has already gained media attention, with coverage appearing in both Dhuvas and Mihaaru News, reflecting growing interest in locally engineered health-technology solutions:
