Javaabu unveils new text-highlighting feature for its Dhivehi Text-to-Speech system

Malé, Maldives, October 10, 2023 Javaabu has announced another important enhancement to its Dhivehi Text-to-Speech (TTS) system. The updated version can now highlight text in real time as it is being read aloud, creating a smoother and more intuitive reading experience for users.

The feature also allows listeners to tap on any specific word and have the system begin reading from that exact point. This capability is particularly valuable for students, learners of Dhivehi, and individuals who rely on assistive technologies.

The Javaabu team noted that the new update is currently in testing and that they hope to make the feature publicly available soon, In Sha Allah. The improvement is part of the broader effort to make Dhivehi-language digital tools more accessible, especially for those with visual impairments or reading challenges.
