Javaabu showcased the upcoming PSM Kids app during the 21st Asia Media Summit 2026 (AMS26), held from 11th to 14th May 2026 at Villa Nautica, Maldives. The app presentation was delivered by Javaabu CEO Mohamed Jailam as part of the summit’s technology-focused discussions and showcases.
The Asia Media Summit is the flagship annual conference organised by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD). Recognised as one of the region’s leading broadcasting events, the summit brings together broadcasters, regulators, media professionals, policymakers, and technology leaders from across Asia-Pacific and beyond. This year’s summit, hosted by Public Service Media (PSM), carries the theme “Maldives 2.0 – From Tradition to Tech.”
The upcoming PSM Kids app is being developed collaboratively by Javaabu and PSM as part of the partnership established under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two organisations in late 2025. The initiative follows ongoing efforts to strengthen local digital innovation and AI development in the Maldives.
Designed specifically for children, the PSM Kids app will feature a range of fun and educational experiences enhanced with the latest AI technologies. The platform is being developed with strong emphasis on child safety and privacy while offering engaging interactive features that allow children to directly participate with live TV shows and media content.
The app is intended to complement PSM’s existing PSM Air platform by creating a dedicated digital experience tailored for younger audiences. Through the new platform, children will be able to safely access educational entertainment and interactive media experiences built around local content and emerging technologies.
During the presentation at AMS26, attendees were given a preview of the app through a video showcase highlighting its user experience, interactive capabilities, and child-focused design approach. The app is currently in its testing phase and is expected to be released to the public later this year.
Javaabu extends its sincere appreciation to Public Service Media for the opportunity to collaborate on this exciting initiative and looks forward to continuing future collaborations that contribute to the advancement of media innovation and digital experiences in the Maldives.
