Majeediyya School Launches New Website Developed by Javaabu Alongside Official YouTube Channel

Majeediyya School, the oldest educational institution in the Maldives, has officially launched its new website and YouTube channel as part of its 99th anniversary celebrations. The digital platforms were inaugurated by Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu during a special assembly held at the school on April 19, 2026.

The newly launched website, majeediyya.edu.mv, offers comprehensive and up-to-date information about the school, including its rich history, academic and extracurricular activities, announcements, staff profiles, and a media gallery. Designed as a dual-language platform in both English and Dhivehi, the website aims to improve accessibility and communication with students, parents, and the wider community.

Alongside the website, the school also introduced its official YouTube channel, youtube.com/@Majeediyyaschool, which will serve as a platform to share school events, achievements, and multimedia content with a broader audience.

The website was developed by Javaabu as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The project holds special significance for the company, as Majeediyya School is the alma mater of its Co-Founders Mohamed Jailam and Arushad Ahmed, who were classmates during their time at the school. Jailam served as School Captain, while Arushad held the position of Shaheedh Ali House Captain.

The initiative originated last year when the school’s principal, Ahmed Mujahid, invited the Javaabu team to conduct a professional development session on artificial intelligence for teachers. During this engagement, the opportunity to develop a modern digital presence for the school was discussed, leading to the launch of the new website this year.

The website’s development was led by Jailam, with UI/UX design by Javaabu’s designer Noor Yoosuf. The platform incorporates a range of features aimed at enhancing user experience and engagement, including:

  • Latest school news and updates

  • Information on events and activities

  • Detailed school history

  • School timings and announcements

  • Photo gallery and media content

  • Staff directory and information

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Principal Ahmed Mujahid expressed his appreciation to Jailam and the Javaabu team for their contribution in building the platform. The Minister of Education, Dr. Ismail Shafeeu, highlighted the importance of institutions like Majeediyya School in setting benchmarks for innovation and progress in the national education system.

During the event, the school also unveiled a commemorative publication titled "Majeediyya Moments," which will be released annually to document key events and milestones. Additional activities marking the 99th anniversary include a blood donation drive and community engagement programs involving senior citizens.

Looking ahead to its centennial anniversary in 2027, the Minister announced that work has commenced on a special monument to be built within the school premises, symbolizing Majeediyya’s century-long legacy in education.

Established on April 19, 1927, Majeediyya School began with approximately 60 students and has since grown to serve over 1,300 students across primary and secondary education. The school transitioned from an all-boys institution to a co-educational model in 2011 and continues to play a pioneering role in the Maldivian education sector, including being the first to introduce an international curriculum.

Javaabu extends its sincere appreciation to Majeediyya School for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful initiative and conveys its best wishes as the institution approaches its historic 100-year milestone.
