Javaabu has announced the introduction of a new monthly AI Allowance for all employees, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and forward-thinking workplace practices. The initiative comes in response to staff requests and aligns with the company’s broader goal of embracing emerging technologies to enhance productivity.
Effective immediately, every team member at Javaabu will receive a monthly allowance of USD 20, paid in Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) based on the prevailing official bank exchange rate. The allowance is included as part of employees’ regular monthly salary, with the first disbursement made alongside the April 2026 payroll.
The allowance is designed to encourage staff to explore and adopt artificial intelligence tools that can support their day-to-day work, streamline processes, and improve efficiency. Team members can utilize the allowance to subscribe to or pay for their AI tool of choice, depending on what best fits their workflow and responsibilities.
Even prior to this initiative, many members of Javaabu’s development and design teams had already been actively integrating AI tools into their workflows. Tools such as Claude Code, Antigravity, and Cursor have been used to assist with coding, design exploration, and accelerating project delivery, demonstrating the growing role of AI across disciplines.
Recognizing that AI is increasingly relevant across all roles, the initiative applies to all employees — including developers, designers, and administrative staff alike — reflecting the company’s belief that AI can enhance productivity across the entire organization.
Javaabu CEO Mohamed Jailam highlighted the importance of embracing AI as a means to work smarter and more efficiently. He noted that equipping employees with access to modern tools is key to maintaining a competitive and innovative edge in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
As part of the rollout, Javaabu Machine Learning Research Engineer Ahmed Yameen conducted a training session on Agentic Coding. The session was held under the company’s ongoing "Training Thursdays" internal program, which focuses on continuous learning and skill development among staff.
The training session introduced team members to practical ways of integrating AI into their workflows, demonstrating how intelligent systems can assist with coding, automation, and problem-solving tasks. This hands-on approach aims to ensure that employees can effectively utilize the new allowance to maximize its impact.
Javaabu continues to position itself as a forward-thinking company that actively invests in its people and technology. By empowering employees with the tools and resources needed to explore AI, the company is fostering a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
The AI Allowance initiative reflects Javaabu’s belief that the future of work will be shaped by how effectively organizations integrate advanced technologies into everyday operations — and that this transformation begins with enabling its people.
