Javaabu Co-Founder and CEO Mohamed Jailam facilitated a session titled “AI Powered NGO for a Caring Society” at the BML Islamic NGO Conference 2026, organized by Jamiyath Salaf.
Held from August 13 to 15, 2026, the three-day conference brings together 40 non-governmental organizations under the theme “Together for a Caring Society.” Participating organizations represent a diverse range of areas, including sports, mental health, women empowerment, and other community-focused causes.
Jailam’s session, held on August 14, focused on practical ways NGOs can make effective use of popular artificial intelligence tools in their day-to-day work. The session explored how AI can support organizations in improving productivity and carrying out their work more efficiently, while making emerging technology more approachable for teams working across different areas of civil society.
The session also introduced participants to DhivehiGPT, Javaabu’s Dhivehi artificial intelligence platform, highlighting how locally focused AI tools can support Dhivehi-language use cases and make artificial intelligence more accessible to organizations in the Maldives.
The BML Islamic NGO Conference 2026 is the second edition of the conference. The inaugural conference was held in 2024 with the participation of 20 NGOs, while this year’s edition has doubled participation to 40 organizations. The conference is planned as a biennial event, taking place every two years.
Jailam has been actively involved in AI education and capacity building across the Maldives, regularly conducting training sessions on the practical and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence. His participation at the NGO Conference follows his recent facilitation of AI-focused sessions at BML Islamic Lakusana 2026 in HDh. Nolhivaran, as well as community AI training initiatives delivered in collaboration with NGOs.
Through such engagements, Javaabu continues to support greater digital literacy and practical adoption of emerging technologies across communities, institutions, and civil society organizations in the Maldives.
Javaabu extends its appreciation to Jamiyath Salaf for the opportunity to contribute to the BML Islamic NGO Conference 2026 and to share practical knowledge on artificial intelligence with organizations working to build stronger and more caring communities.
