Mohamed Jailam, Co-Founder and CEO of Javaabu, joined a panel discussion at the 5th Civil Service Conference 2026, held at the Social Centre in Malé on 13 June 2026.
The panel, titled “Digital Transformation in Governance: Implications for Transparency, Accountability, and Citizen Engagement,” brought together diverse perspectives on how digital tools can support more transparent, accountable, and citizen-focused public service delivery in the Maldives.
During the discussion, Jailam spoke about how artificial intelligence is transforming the nature of work across institutions. He highlighted how AI can help teams improve efficiency, reduce repetitive administrative tasks, and support better decision-making when adopted responsibly within government workflows.
Jailam also emphasized Javaabu’s commitment to supporting the Maldives’ digital transformation journey. He noted that Javaabu is ready to collaborate with public sector institutions to build practical digital capacity, including through ongoing partnerships such as the MoU signed with the Civil Service Commission to deliver AI training for civil servants.
The Civil Service Conference 2026 is themed “FUTURE-READY RESPONSIVE GOVERNANCE – Empower People, Embrace Agility, Enhance Services.” The three-day conference, scheduled from June 13 to June 15, focuses on modernizing public service delivery, strengthening administrative reform, and preparing the Maldivian Civil Service for emerging challenges.
This year’s agenda is structured around five key tracks: governance and reforms, service excellence, digital transformation, leadership and competency, and workplace well-being. The conference is expected to bring together around 350 stakeholders, including Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Secretary-Generals from City and Island Councils, and representatives from state-owned enterprises.
In addition to keynote sessions and panel discussions, more than 15 research papers on the future of the civil service will be presented during the conference. The final day will focus on working sessions, where participants will translate research findings and discussions into actionable policy recommendations.
Javaabu’s participation in the conference reflects its continued focus on responsible AI adoption, public sector capacity building, and practical technology solutions that help institutions deliver better services to citizens.
