Javaabu Signs MoU with Civil Service Commission to Deliver AI Training for Civil Servants

Javaabu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Civil Service Commission of the Maldives to deliver structured artificial intelligence (AI) training programmes for civil servants across government institutions. The MoU was signed on February 9, 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening AI literacy and workplace efficiency within the public sector.

The agreement was signed by Mohamed Jailam, Co-Founder and CEO of Javaabu, and Usthaz Mohamed Mujthaz, President of the Civil Service Commission. Under the MoU, Javaabu will design and deliver a specialised curriculum focused on AI literacy and practical workplace use of AI tools tailored specifically for civil servants.

As part of the programme, monthly training sessions will be conducted for different ministries and island councils. Javaabu will provide experienced training facilitators, and the sessions will be delivered in collaboration with the Civil Service Training Institute to ensure alignment with existing civil service capacity-building frameworks.

The training curriculum will cover modern generative AI tools, strategies to improve workplace efficiency using AI, practical use of DhivehiGPT for Dhivehi-language tasks, and essential principles of AI ethics and responsible use within government operations.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the President of the Civil Service Commission highlighted Javaabu as a leading software and AI company in the Maldives and an important partner in the government’s digital transformation journey. He expressed appreciation to Javaabu for its willingness to collaborate in upskilling civil servants and supporting innovation within the public sector.

Javaabu CEO Mohamed Jailam, in his remarks, emphasised that AI should be viewed as a “best friend” in the workplace—one that can significantly improve productivity, reduce administrative burden, and enable civil servants to focus on higher-value work. He thanked the Civil Service Commission for the opportunity to contribute to national capacity building.

When used correctly, AI becomes your best friend at work—helping you do more, faster, and with greater impact.

Mohamed Jailam
CEO of Javaabu

The first training sessions under the programme are scheduled to take place this week, beginning with participants from the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Cities and Local Government.
