Javaabu has officially launched MakunuType.com, a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative designed to encourage and improve Dhivehi typing skills among younger generations. Inspired by the popular MonkeyType platform, MakunuType aims to make learning Dhivehi typing engaging, modern, and fun for Gen Z and Gen Alpha users.
MakunuType presents users with random Dhivehi words that they must type accurately within a timed session. The platform tracks key performance metrics including words per minute (WPM) and typing accuracy, allowing users to measure their progress and improve over time.
Users can also choose to save their results to a public leaderboard, adding a competitive and motivational element to the experience. This gamified approach is designed to encourage repeated practice while building confidence in Dhivehi digital literacy.
The project was brought to life through the collaboration of Javaabu’s Creative Multimedia Designer, Anaadh Hussain (Annu), and Javaabu’s Co-Founder and CEO, Mohamed Jailam. Their shared vision was to ensure that Dhivehi remains practical, usable, and relevant in an increasingly digital world.
By making Dhivehi typing accessible and enjoyable, MakunuType supports the long-term preservation and everyday use of the Dhivehi language, especially among younger users who primarily interact with technology in English.
MakunuType.com is now live and open to the public. Users are encouraged to test their typing speed, explore the leaderboard, and provide feedback to help further improve the platform.
