NCS MyCareer Portal Developed by Javaabu Officially Launched

The new NCS MyCareer Portal, developed by Javaabu for the National Careers Service (NCS), was officially launched on 10 August 2026 by Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan at a function held at Maldives Customs Hall.

The platform was developed under the Sustainable and Integrated Labor Services (SAILS) project with funding from the World Bank, introducing a major upgrade to the government's digital employment and career services infrastructure.

MyCareer succeeds the government's previous JobCenter platform, which was also developed by Javaabu. Javaabu developed both the main JobCenter system and its mobile application, with the JobCenter mobile app officially launched in 2021. As part of the transition to MyCareer, all existing JobCenter data was migrated to the new platform, allowing users and employers to move to the upgraded service seamlessly.

A New Focus on Career Services

While continuing to provide core employment services, MyCareer significantly expands the platform's focus towards long-term career development. New career-focused features include career counselling services, career journey mapping, milestone tracking, and referrals, providing NCS with new digital tools to support individuals throughout different stages of their careers.

The portal also retains and improves key employment features, including job listing discovery and search, job matching, job applications, CV generation, job notifications, course and training listings, and dedicated employer services. Employers can manage job listings through the employer portal and access headhunting capabilities to identify suitable candidates.

The platform is open to both government and private sector employers, allowing organizations to list jobs and training opportunities free of charge.

A Flexible Application Management Platform

One of the most significant technical upgrades introduced with MyCareer is a complete overhaul of the application management system used by NCS for funding programs, training opportunities, and other initiatives.

Under the previous JobCenter system, individual programs could require custom development to accommodate their different forms, processes, and application workflows. MyCareer replaces this approach with a fully dynamic application management module featuring configurable form builders, workflow builders, and application management tools.

The new architecture allows NCS to create and manage different programs with their own application requirements and processing workflows without requiring a separate custom-built system for every new initiative. This provides a more flexible foundation that can adapt to future programs and services.

Built by Team Javaabu

Development of the MyCareer platform was led by Javaabu Senior Fullstack Developer Mohamed Athfan Khaleel, assisted by Junior Fullstack Developer Faarish Fathuhulla.

Project management and system architecture were led by Co-Founder and CTO Arushad Ahmed, while development of the upcoming MyCareer mobile application is being led by Co-Founder and CEO Mohamed Jailam.

Graphics support for the project was provided by Mohamed Anaadh Hussain, while Hussain Samah supported the project with administrative work.

MyCareer on Mobile

A brand-new MyCareer mobile application is also set to be released soon, extending the platform's career and employment services to a dedicated mobile experience.

Javaabu extends its sincere appreciation to the National Careers Service team for their continued support, collaboration, and the opportunity to develop this important national platform. We also thank the SAILS project team and the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology for their support throughout the project.

With MyCareer now officially launched, Javaabu remains committed to working closely with NCS and its partners to continuously improve the platform, expand its capabilities, and strengthen access to career development, training, and employment opportunities across the Maldives.
